An understanding of the technologies that underpin modern computer and
communication systems is useful to people in many walks of life. The Faculty
offers a range of courses to develop this understanding: from a historical
perspective of the modern information technology industry and some of
its applications, through a study of the technology of IT and communications
in the context of people's interaction with them, to advanced treatments
of microprocessors, digital communications and artificial intelligence.
Some of these courses also offer an opportunity to develop key skills,
particularly communication skills and learning to learn.
